The 'Youth in Crisis' two-part series is designed to equip the primary care team with the skills to effectively identify common pediatric mental health concerns, such as anxiety, depression, behavioral changes, school concerns, and family stressors. Participants will learn to apply validated screening and triage processes to differentiate between routine, urgent, and emergent mental health needs in children and adolescents. A major focus is on the team-based approach, where participants will describe the role of each team member in a standardized workflow and develop a practical action plan for improving identification, referral, documentation, and follow-up within their own primary care setting.

1. Identify common pediatric mental health concerns that may present in primary care, including anxiety, depression, behavioral changes, school concerns, and family stressors.
2. Describe the role of each primary care team member in a standardized pediatric mental health workflow.
3. Apply validated screening and triage processes to pediatric patients with possible mental health concerns.
4. Differentiate between routine, urgent, and emergent mental health needs in children and adolescents.
5. Develop a team based action plan for improving mental health identification, referral, documentation, and followup within their own primary care setting.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received in writing no less than 20 days before the course will be refunded, less a 20% administrative fee. No refunds will be made on cancellations received after that date. Please send cancellation requests to  [email protected].
