The Wyoming Academy of Dermatology 2026 Annual Conference, held October 24, 2026, in Jackson, Wyoming, will bring together dermatologists, physician assistants, advanced practice providers, residents, and medical students from across the state. The educational program will feature expert-led clinical lectures, dermatology trainee presentations, and Wyoming-based case studies addressing current topics and emerging practices in dermatologic care. 1. Focus: Autoimmune and inflammatory diseases at the intersection of dermatology and rheumatology Potential learning objectives Following the presentation, participants should be able to: Identify clinical features that help differentiate complex autoimmune and inflammatory skin diseases. Describe current diagnostic approaches for conditions involving both dermatologic and rheumatologic manifestations. Evaluate emerging evidence and treatment options for autoimmune and inflammatory skin diseases. Recognize when interdisciplinary consultation or referral may improve patient care. Anticipated outcomes Participants will be better prepared to recognize complex inflammatory presentations, select appropriate diagnostic evaluations, coordinate care with rheumatology, and apply current evidence when developing individualized treatment plans.
2. Focus: Complex medical dermatology, including autoimmune and infectious skin diseases Potential learning objectives Following the presentation, participants should be able to: Recognize common and atypical presentations of complex autoimmune and infectious dermatologic conditions. Develop an appropriate differential diagnosis and diagnostic workup for challenging skin diseases. Compare current and emerging treatment strategies for complex medical dermatology cases. Apply evidence from clinical research to treatment selection and ongoing patient management. Anticipated outcomes Participants will improve their ability to evaluate challenging dermatologic presentations, distinguish infectious from inflammatory or autoimmune processes, and select evidencebased diagnostic and treatment approaches.
3. Focus: Dermatology, dermatopathology, wound healing, and skindisease research Potential learning objectives Following the presentation, participants should be able to: Correlate clinical findings with dermatopathologic features to improve diagnostic accuracy. Describe the biological processes involved in normal and impaired wound healing. Identify patient and diseaserelated factors that contribute to delayed or complicated wound healing. Translate relevant biomedical and dermatologic research findings into clinical decisionmaking. Anticipated outcomes Participants will strengthen their clinicopathologic reasoning, improve their assessment of wounds and complex skin conditions, and more effectively incorporate current research into diagnostic and treatment decisions.
